Acronyms

aaaomgdog

WUG!!! RRRH!!! (WHAT’S UP GUYS!!! REALLY RED ROSE HERE!!!) As you can see from the obvious title and intro sequence, this blog post is about ACRONYMS. So for those of you who don’t know what an acronym is because:

A) You haven’t been blessed with my school’s BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, FANTASTIC, MARVELOUS vocabulary book.

B) Or you seriously just don’t know what acronym means.

Then here is the definition.

acronym /ˈakrəˌnim/ : a word from the first letters of multiple words

Still don’t know what it means? Here’s an example: OMG. Now you know what it is, right?

OMG and BTW and ROFLBMDJS are all examples of acronyms (Well, you might not know the last one but THAT’S OKAY!!) I seriously think some of these are SO overused. Because, think about it, you wouldn’t actually say FYI in real life. I mean, look at this conversation.

Friend 1: So you wanted to tell me something?

Friend 2: For your information, the meeting has been moved to Wednesday.

Friend 1: Why did you say for your information? Of course you’re telling me information otherwise you wouldn’t be saying anything!!

See. Look how weird that would be. And then there’s the problem of a person not knowing what an acronym means. For example, the classic LOL. That’s right CONVERSATION TIME!!!

Mom: Peewee (your dog who is really near to your heart because you love him so much) just died today. LOL.

You (who of course is very used to all this fancy-shmancy slang): Mom, how could say that?

Mom: Say what? I said LOL. Lots of love!

You (who is now horrified): Mom, LOL means “laughing out loud”.

Mom: Oops.

YA SEE! YA SEE! Sometimes acronyms can be really useless. But not OMG. OMG never gets old.

WELL, MY FRIENDS, THAT’S ALL THE TIME WE HAVE FOR TODAY!! I HOPED YOU ENJOYED THAT ARTICLE!!! PLEASE LIKE, COMMENT, AND FOLLOW ME!!!! NOW I’M OUTTA HERE!!!!

(Oh, and ROFLBADJS means “Rolling On the Floor Laughing Because A Dog Just Sneezed.)
